In my never humble opinion we are seeing the proof of a fundamental truth of life: As a whole, we the American people are a hearty bunch, who love God, Country, Mom and Apple Pie. We hate war but we will wage it in the face of tyranny. But we have little stomach for seeing dead, innocent people. Yet they, the dead innocent, are a fact of war. Our professional military knows that, and they avoid the losses at all costs. But there comes a time when the decision must be made to kill a relative few to save a majority long-term. This gut-turning, life or death decision is one that we, the public, cannot and do not fully comprehend. That is why we are not running the war. We the clamoring masses do not run wars for we could never make these impossible decisions. If we did run wars, we would lose everytime. Because in order loose the fury that war demand, one must decide to hit first, hit hard, and overwhelm the enemy with death on a Biblical scale. We the citizens of America do not have the soul for that. We want to help and heal, love and talk. Not destroy. But destroying must be done now and we have the best in the world leading our military. They will destroy what and who is required. And then grieve from their soul only after peace has been earned.Allow your resolve to rest in the hands of our soldiers, and your faith rest in the arms of God. |
